I just wanted to let you know how happy you have made my mother. As her daughter, I was naturally concerned but you are obviously an artist. She looks wonderful... refreshed, not plastic looking. I was actually amazed at how well it went - definitely beyond expectations. My mother has always done for others and this is the first time she did something for herself. I'm just so pleased it turned out so well. After working so hard to lose 60lbs, she deserved a little boost. After my father's passing a year and a half ago, this gave her an extra skip in her step.

It is Thanksgiving and I am sitting in the Oakland airport waiting to take our flight to Orange County. A delay in Portland is giving me time to linger over my cappuccino and to reflect upon the many reasons I have to feel grateful. Naturally, my thoughts travel to my revised face and to you.

I am so very appreciative of your services, Dr. Ristow. You have a remarkable gift... to be able to restore to the outside what people feel they reflect from within. When we face the world with an appealing countenance, we most assuredly feel better about ourselves.

I know I selected you as my surgeon because of your skills, but in the process I've come to realize what a good man you are... someone who practices his craft responsibly as well as artistically and leaves the recipient with his or her dignity intact. It would seem God chose wisely when he made you the recipient of such talents.

I first started volunteering at hospitals when I was 14. As you know, I am now 57. I have had the honor to work with many fine physicians. You are on the Top Three List. It goes without saying that you are a superb surgeon with incredible talent and passion for your work. But you are so much more. You are kind, gracious, I feel treasured by you. I felt unique and special. You are a true gentleman.

As a nurse I'd expected to be very anxious, scared, the day of surgery but thanks to you and your staff I was only excited.

When Lou and I met you we both felt more comfortable going ahead with the procedure. Having someone work on my face was very scary to me, but after I talked with you I walked away feeling that I wasn't just another patient to you. I felt you sincerely wanted to do the best that you could for me.
